Stefania joined the lab in the fall of 2007. She received her Ph.D. in Marco Presta's laboratory in the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Biotechnology at the University of Brescia Medical School, Brescia, Italy. During her Ph.D. Stefania pioneered the use of the zebrafish embryo as a tumor angiogenesis model through the use of human tumor cell xenografts. In the Lawson Lab she is continuing her study of vascular development in the zebrafish with a focus on the role of small RNAs in endothelial cells.
