Important information about Tg(fli1a:egfp):

Please be aware that the tissues expressing the egfp transgene in this line (i.e. blood, blood vessels and pharyngeal arches) will give high background staining in whole mount in situ hybridization assays. Most (but not all) probes generated from plasmid templates seem to have this problem. Our efforts to block the background staining with plasmid backbone DNA, RNA, egfp RNA, etc. . have not been successful. We have successfully used riboprobes generated from PCR templates without background problems. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused in your studies. Please be aware that this problem can also occur with other transgenic lines.
