Jacques graduated from the University of Puerto Rico and started graduate school here at UMass Med School in 2003. His project in the Lawson Lab pertains to the diverse role of Vegf signaling in different blood vessels. In particular, Jacques is trying to determine the many roles of the vegfr-3 ortholog, flt4, in driving the formation of different blood vessels. In addition, Jacques is involved in projects concerning the role of phospholipase C gamma 1 (plcg1) during artery development.
In 2005, Jacques was awarded an NIH Predoctoral Fellowship for Minority Students.
